Many people have turned to crystals to give them power in their lives and to help protect them against negative things. Since the crystals help in so many ways, what can you do to keep the crystals strong and to keep them from losing their power?
There are many different methods that people use to cleanse and recharge their crystals and it depends on the stone in order to what methods you can use.

Figure out which method is best for you to recharge your stones.
Water
Water is something that is easy to come by and can be useful to cleanse your crystals. This can be as easy as taking a bath or washing your hands when they get dirty.
Once you research your stones, you can take several of your stones and run them under water. You can even add essential oils to your water to give your stones more power and a nice fragrance. Some people like to spray their stones with sage or other incense oils.
Here are some stones not to put in water. If you have these stones, find a different method of cleansing:
- Kunzite
- Kyanite
- Calcite
- Malachite
- Fire Opal
- Amber
- Turquoise
- Moonstone
- Angelite
- Halite
- Selenite
- Azurite
- Labradorite
Air
You can use different essential oils or sticks in order to cleanse your stones. Use Sweetgrass, Rosemary, Sage, or Frankincense to cleanse your crystals.
Earth
There are many different options that you can use to cleanse your stones that come from the earth. You can put them in herbs such as lavender or juniper, put them in a salt bowl or even put them in Himalayan sea salt and let them sit overnight or for a few hours.
This is an easy method and all you have to do is put the crystals in the bottom of a bowl and then put the salt on top of them. You can also take your stones and put them into the soil in your garden to cleanse them.
There are many stones that you can bury in the garden overnight to recharge their energy such as:
- Shungite
- Clear Quartz
- Carnelian
- Citrine
- Kyanite
- Hematite
- Nuummite
Some stones cannot be cleansed forever like other stones. One of these stones is the Hematite. This stone can only be cleansed so many times and then when it turns dark it will no longer be able to keep you safe from negative energy. When this happens, bury it in the earth so it can return to its natural state.
Fire
Put a stone through a flame of a candle to cleanse it using fire. You can also use a firepit and put the stones on the outside to be blessed by the flame. If you want to add incense or herbs to the fire you can get a double cleansing.
Sun or Moonlight
One natural cleansing method is light. You can use sunlight or moonlight to cleanse your stone. Be careful of putting stones right in the direct sunlight because if some stones get too much light, they will turn colors.
Here are some stones that will fade if exposed to too much sunlight:
- Smokey Quartz
- Sapphire
- Rose Quartz
- Aventurine
- Kunzite
- Amethyst
- Emerald
- Morganite
- Aquamarine
- Citrine
- Moldavite
- Garnet
- Lapis Lazuli
- Morganite
- Fluorite
Moonlight never fades and is a great cleanser.
Mind
You can pray over and imagine your crystals to be cleansed. All you have to do is meditate quietly with your stone and you can think positive things that will cleanse your home.
Intuition
There are many different choices that you can use to cleanse your stones. Use your intuition and trust yourself and you will be able to benefit from your healthy stones by choosing the perfect cleansing method.
